Canadian Firm Developing Three Properties in Nevada to Construct and Support New Geothermal Power Stations

Nevada Geothermal Power Incorporated (OTC:NGLPF) (Vancouver, British Columbia), formerly Continental Ridge Resources Incorporated, has identified and acquired rights to three sites in Nevada where it believes it can drill and find steam to drive one of three 30-megawatt (MW) steam turbine generator sets at each site. The Blue Mountain Project is near Winnemucca, the Pumpernickel Valley Project, near Golconda, is in Humble County, and the Black Warrior Project is near Nixon in Washoe County.

Nevada Geothermal Power is working to develop these sites with two United States consultants: GeothermEx Incorporated (Richmond, California) and Geothermal Development Associates (Reno, Nevada). Nevada Geothermal Power hopes to start construction of the first site in late 2005 and complete all three renewable energy projects by 2009. Nevada Geothermal Power is planning to start all sites at 30 MW, but Pumpernickel Valley has the potential to expand up to 100 MW.

These planned units are three of almost 60 new power units that are in the pre-commissioning stage in the state of Nevada. In fact, Nevada leads all states in the Rocky Mountain Region with more than 6,000 MW under development.
