Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas). Investor-owned Castle Rock Renewable Fuels, LLC (Necedah, Wisconsin), formally known as Necedah Ethanol, LLC, has broken ground on a new fuel ethanol plant that will be located in the town of Necedah, Wisconsin.

Plans call for the construction of a 40 million-gallon per year ethanol plant that will process 20 million bushels annually of Wisconsin corn into the renewable fuel along with 360,000 tons of distillers dried grains.

The company selected ICM, Incorporated (Colwich, Kansas) as its licensed ethanol process technology and Fagen, Incorporated (Granite Falls, Minnesota) was awarded the general contractor construction contract. Currently, footers are going in for the fermentation tanks and the project is scheduled to be complete by late 2007 or early 2008.

The plant is also the forth ethanol plant currently under construction is Wisconsin. United Coop Ethanol is nearing completion of a 40 million-gallon per year plant in Milton and Renew Energy, LLC is building a huge 130 million-gallon per year plant in Jefferson. Five plants are currently in operation in Wisconsin that have a combined capacity of 196 million gallons per year
