Kou Bing'en, General Manager of China Datang Oversea Investment Company Limited (Beijing), and a general manager of the TT-Group, signed the shareholders agreement as well as the articles of association for the proposed Datang-TT Energy Company Limited on behalf of both parties.
According to the agreement, Datang Oversea will hold 51% of the joint venture, and the TT-Group will hold the remaining share. The joint venture will be the project company for the proposed Lutnik Hydropower Station and will be responsible for the construction and operation of the plant. The Lutnik Hydropower Station will have two powerhouses built in two phases with a total installed capacity of 42 megawatts (MW), located upstream of the Koksu River in Almaty province, Kazakhstan.
In April, China Datang announced the intention to build a batch of small hydropower stations, a thermal power plant and some windfarms in Kazakhstan. China Datang is currently China's second-largest power producer and largest hydropower producer. As of September 14, the company's hydropower capacity in operation reached 10,238.9 MW, surpassing 10,000 MW for the first time.
