China Huadian Signs Agreement to Build $7.3 Billion Energy Complex in Hebei Province
China Huadian Corporation (Beijing) and the government of Tangshan City, Hebei province, signed an agreement on October 30 for a large energy complex in the Caohuidian Industry Zone.

According to the agreement, China Huadian will invest more than $7.3 billion in the complex, which comprises four projects: a coal port, an extra-large coal-fired power plant, equipment manufacturing and a coal-chemical base. Upon completion, the complex is expected to have an annual production value of about $3 billion-$4 billion.
As one of China's top five nationwide power producers, China Huadian plans to expand its total installed capacity to more than 80 gigawatts by 2010, and Hebei will be an important part of the company's regional development strategy.
