China has qualified 434 photovoltaic power projects for state allowances this year. The projects, to be built in 2020, have a total installed capacity of 25.97 gigawatts (GW), China's National Energy Administration (NEA) said on June 28.
According to the NEA, among the 33.5 GW of photovoltaic power projects that participated in the bidding, 295 ordinary projects with a total installed capacity of 25.63 GW and 139 distributed power projects with total installed capacity of 0.34 GW are included in the allowance program. The weighted average allowance in 2020 is largely reduced to about 0.033 kWh from 0.065 kWh in 2019. However, 2020 is the last year for state allowances in China to fulfill photovoltaic power projections.
