Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Henan No.1Thermal Power Construction Company (HTPC1) (Zhengzhou, Henan), has signed the construction and erection contract for Nei Mongol Jinlian Aluminum Company Limited (Tongliao, Inner Mongolia)'s Phase II 2x660-megawatt (MW) Units Addition Project, according to a company announcement.
HTPC1, a subsidiary of Power Construction Corporation of China (Power China), will construct and erect Unit 5 and & Unit 6, as well as the chimney works in the power plant of three million metric ton Aluminum-Magnesium Alloy Phase II Expansion Project. The contract value amounts to about $74 million, excluding the price of main materials.
As reported, the three million metric ton aluminum ingot and one million metric ton aluminum deep processing complex, located in Huolin Gol Industrial Park in Tongliao City of North China's Inner Mongolia Region, is jointly funded by Hangzhou Jinjiang Group Company Limited (Hangzhou, Zhejiang), Inner Mongolia Mining Group Company Limited (Hohhot, Inner Mongolia) and Inner Mongolia Huolinhe Coal Group Company Limited (Tongliao, Inner Mongolia). The project's power plant has a total planned capacity of 5,680 MW to be built in phases. Two 200-MW cogeneration units for Phase I were commissioned at the end of 2013. Phase II and Phase III of the project will be each be furnished with four 660-MW supercritical coal-fired units.
Henan Electric Power Survey & Design Institute (Zhengzhou, Henan) is responsible for the design and engineering of Phase II. Prior to the awarding of the current 2x660MW units, the other two 660 MW units (Unit 3 & 4) of Phase II were awarded to No.3 Engineering Construction Company of Northeast Electric Power (Jinzhou, Liaoning). The equipment contracts for the turbines, generators and boilers (TGB) for all eight of the 660-MW units have been awarded to Harbin Electric Corporation (Harbin, Heilongjiang).
Construction of units 5 and 6 will start in March, with mechanical erection to take place in May, 2014. According to the schedule, both units will be put into operation in 2015.
