Inner Mongolia Finalizes Ten Key Energy & Power Projects for 2014
The government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has finalized 100 key industrial projects for 2014, including 10 energy and power projects in Hohhot, the region's Development and Reform Commission disclosed recently.

The 10 projects include: North United Power Company Limited (Hohhot, Inner Mongolia)'s Helin Power Plant 2X660 megawatt (MW) Grassroot Coal-fired Units Project; Inner Mongolia Kingho Group (Hohhot, Inner Mongolia)'s Coal-based Clean Energy Project; Inner Mongolia Mining Group (Hohhot, Inner Mongolia)'s Coal Gasification Project; Datang Tuoketuo Power Generation Company Limited (Tuoketuo, Inner Mongolia)'s Phase V 2x660MW Expansion Project; Hangzhou Jingjiang Group (Hangzhou, Zhejiang)'s Fly Ash Alumina Extraction Project; Zhonghuan Solar Company Limited (Hohhot, Inner Mongolia)'s Mono-silicon Materials Phase III Expansion Project; Zhonghuan Solar Company Limited (Hohhot, Inner Mongolia)'s Mono-Silicon Wafer Project; China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) (Beijing)'s Tainye Chemical Gas Alternative Energy Project; Inner Mongolia Sunnergy Company Limited (Hohhot, Inner Mongolia)'s Photovoltaic Materials Industrial Park Project; and China Three Gorges Group Corporation (CTGP) (Beijing)'s Hohhot 1,200 MW Pump-Storage Power Station Project.
The 10 projects have a total investment of about $25 billion. Investments in 2014 will amount to $2.73 billion. North United Power's Helin Power Plant 2X660 MW Grassroot Coal-fired Units Project just received final approval by the National Development and Reform Commission in March. The project is currently under site preparation, and is expected to begin full operation in the end of 2015. As the first pump-storage power station in Inner Mongolia, CTGP's Hohhot Pump-Storage Power Station is to be furnished with four reversible pump-storage hydro turbine generator sets, each with a capacity of 300 MW, with the first unit is expected to begin operation in later this year.
