Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Huadian GE Light Gas Turbine Equipment Company Limited (Shanghai) has signed a service contract to supply two LM6000 PF gas turbine generating units to Tianjian Huadian Beichen Distributed Energy Company Limited's (Tianjin) Beichen Wind Power Industry Park Distributed Energy Station.

Huadian GE Light Gas Turbine is a 51:49 joint venture by Huadian Distributed Energy Engineering Technology Company Limited (Beijing), a subsidiary of China Huadian Engineering Limited (CHEC), and General Electric China Limited (Beijing).

The supply of the generating units is the first contract won by Huadian GE Light Gas Turbine. It represents a new stage for CHEC's advanced equipment manufacturing sector, China Huadian Corporation (Beijing) said on March 10.

The joint venture is mainly engaged in the manufacture, sale, research and development of aero-derivative gas turbines. With the introduction of GE's light gas turbine generating unit, the joint venture aims to produce 100 sets of gas turbines each year.

The Beichen Distributed Energy Station is located in the wind power industry park in the Beichen District of northern China's Tianjin City. The project includes construction of two 60-megawatt (MW), gas-fired, combined-cycle units to provide integrated cooling, heating and power to the industry park. The project received final approval from the Development and Reform Commission of Tianjin City in December 2011.

Huadian GE's first unit is scheduled to be delivered to the site in October, with delivery completion by the end of December. The project will be able to supply about 613 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, and about 1.1 million gigajoules every year.
