China's Import and Export Values Set Record High in September 2010
In September 2010, the import and export value of China reached a record high of $273.1 billion, an increase of 24.7% year over year, or 5.6% over the previous month.

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--In September 2010, the import and export value of China reached a record high of $273.1 billion, an increase of 24.7% year over year, or 5.6% over the previous month. Export values reached $144.99 billion, an increase of 25.1% year over year and 4.1% over the previous month. Import values reached $128.11 billion, a jump of 24.1% year over year and 7.4% over the previous month. The surplus for the month was $16.87 billion, a drop of 10.5%, the General Customs Administration of China announced on October 13, 2010.
From January through September 2010, the accumulative import and export value of China was $2.15 trillion, a jump of 37.9% from the same period last year. Export values in this period were $1.13 trillion, an increase of 34% year over year. Import values reached $1.01 trillion, a jump of 42.4% year over year. The accumulative surplus in trade was $120.6 billion. From January to September 2010, the import and export value of general trade jumped to $1.07 trillion, a jump of 41.3% year over year, which was 3.4 percentage points higher than the overall growth of export and import in China. China's export value reached $519.13 billion, an increase of 37.2%. The import value reached $555.54 billion, a jump of 45.4% year over year. The deficit under general trade reached $36.41 billion, which was 880% more than the value of the same period in 2009. In the same period, the import and export value of processing trades jumped to $837.62 billion, an increase of 32.4% year over year. Of which, the export value reached $531.64 billion, an increase of 30.1%; the import value reached $305.98 billion, a jump of 36.4% year over year; and the surplus value of processing trade was $225.66 billion, an increase of 22.4% year over year.
From January to September 2010, the European Union remained the primary trade partner with China, and the bilateral trade value reached $349.49 billion, an increase of 34.4% year over year. The trade value with the United States reached $278.54 billion, an increase of 31.5% year over year. The bilateral trade value with Japan reached $214.46 billion, an increase of 32.2% year over year. Bilateral trade with the Association of Southeast Asian Nationns (ASEAN) jumped to $211.31 billion, an increase of of 43.7% year over year. Imports from ASEAN reached $111.78 billion, a jump of 51.1% year over year, and the trade deficit with ASEAN countries was $12.25 billion.
