In the first three quarters 2019, China's investment in the power generation sector reached $25.67 billion, an increase of 6% year over year. Of this, the investment in hydropower reached $7.51 billion, a jump of 30.2% year over year; that of thermal power reached $5.34 billion, a drop of 28.9% year over year; that of nuclear power reached $3.11 billion, a drop of 29.8% year over year; that of wind power reached $8.54 billion, an increase of 73% year over year.
