Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--China produced 132.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 2014, a 10.7% increase over 2013, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Land Resources.
Also, crude oil production rose 0.7% last year to 210 million tonnes. Total oil and gas equivalent production rose 3.7% to 330 million tonnes.
Production of conventional natural gas in 2014 reached 128.0 billion cubic meters, an increase of 19.8% over 2013. Production of coal bed methane increased 23% to 3.6 billion cubic meters; and shale gas jumped more than fivefold to 1.3 billion cubic meters.
Oil production by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) (Beijing) reached 113.64 million tonnes in December, up 0.9% over December 2013, while gas production increased 8.2% to 95.2 billion cubic meters.
China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group) produced 43.78 million tonnes of oil last year, which is roughly the same as the same month a year earlier, while natural gas production grew by 7.2% to 20 billion cubic meters. Crude oil output by China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) (Beijing) reached 39.55 million tonnes, an increase of 1.1%, and 11.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas, an increase of 23.6%.
Oil production by Yancheng Petroleum Corporation (Xian, Shaanxi) fell 0.6% in 2014 to 12.55 million tonnes, while natural gas production totaled 600 million cubic meters.
Oil output by of China's Daqing, Shengli, Bohai, Changqing, Yanchang, Xinjiang and Liaohe 7 oil fields each surpassed 10 million metric tons in 2014, according to the GCAC. Output by the Daqing field has been maintained at more than 40 million tonnes for 12 consecutive years.
Natural gas output by three major fields continued to grow rapidly last year. chor production The Ordos Basin produced 42.6 billion cubic meters in 2014, an increase of 10%; Output from the Sichuan and Tarim basins each surpassed 25 billion cubic meters.
Output of coal bed methane has also accelerated. CNPC's new operational production capacity in the Qinshui and East Ordos Basin reached 200 million cubic meters, with another 2.7 billion cubic meters of production capacity under development.
The exploitation of shale gas has achieved an important breakthrough. Sinopec's first large shale gas field, located in Chongqing, has a reserve of 106.7 billion cubic meters, with an operational production capacity of 2.5 billion cubic meters per year. CNPC's operational shale gas production capacity in Sichuan reached 700 million cubic meters, and the first 93 kilometers of a shale gas pipeline has been put into operation. In addition, there are about 10 shale oil producers whose total shale oil output reached 1 million tonnes.
