Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--In the first three quarters 2010, China's accumulative output of crude oil reached 1.13 billion barrels, an increase of 5.8% year over year, and the refining volume reached 2.33 billion barrels, an increase of 13.9% year over year. The output of gasoline and diesel was up 5.3% and 12.4%, respectively, according to the monthly report on the operation of the power, coal, oil and gas industries issued by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on October 29, 2010.
In the first three quarters of 2010, China's output of natural gas reached 69.9 billion cubic meters, an increase of 12.2% year over year, and the growth rate was 4.1 percentage points higher than the previous year.
From January to August 2010, the petroleum and chemical industries of China achieved a total profit of $37.87 billion, an increase of 43% year over year. The profits of the Oil & Gas Production Industry reached $31.75 billion, an increase of 93.2% year over year; the profit of Oil Refining Industry reached $6.12 billion, a drop of 39.1% year over year.
In the first three quarters 2010, the accumulative coal transportation volume in China reached 1.485 billion metric tons, an increase of 15.9% year over year. At the end of September 2010, the stockpile of coal in key power plants reached 58.6 million metric tons, an increase of 2.43 million metric tons year over year, and the stockpile in Qinhuangdao Port reached 6.69 million metric tons, a drop of 590,000 metric tons compared with the previous month. According to the statistics of the General Customs Office, China's coal exports reached 15.09 million metric tons, a drop of 10.4% year over year. Imports reached 121.87 million metric tons, an increase of 42.2%. From January through August 2010, the coal industry of China achieved a total profit of $30.54 billion, an increase of 65.2% year over year.
In the first three quarters 2010, China's power generation output reached 309.06 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 16.1% year over year, which was 14.2 percentage points higher than the previous year. The outputs of thermal power and hydropower increased16.3% and 13.4%, respectively. From January to August 2010, the Power Industry of China achieved a total profit of $14.51 billion, a rise of 10% year over year. The profits of the power generation industry reached $8.84 billion, an increase of 10.7%, while profits of the power transmission industry jumped from a deficit of $1.02 billion to a surplus of $5.76 billion this year.
