Clare Rose to Build New Distribution Center on Long Island

The company has outgrown its existing location in Patchogue, New York, as the property is not suited to meet the growing company’s future expansion needs. Plans are in the works to purchase 20 acres of property off the Long Island expressway in Shirley for the site of the new location.

The plan calls for the construction of a new 200,000 square-foot building, with cooler space, dry storage, multiple shipping and receiving docks, and a new corporate office. Racanelli Construction (Commack, New York) has been selected as the general contractor for the estimated $15 million project.

Construction is scheduled to begin early in the fourth quarter of 2005. The new location is expected to be fully operational by January of 2008, and approximately 250 employees will relocate to the new site.

Clare Rose has risen to success with help from the "King of Beers." The company, one of the top beer wholesalers in the U.S., primarily sells Anheuser-Busch products, including Budweiser, Michelob, and Busch. Clare Rose dominates distribution of the top U.S. beer maker's brands on New York's Long Island and Staten Island. The firm distributes other products such as Boardy Barn Brew, which is made by a popular Long Island bar and distributed in supermarkets.
