Coal Prep Show 2011 Expected to Have Record-breaking Attendance

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Organizers of Coal Prep 2011, an annual coal processing exhibition and conference, which takes May 2-5, 2011, have had to add a second hall in the Rupp Arena at Lexington Center in Lexington, Kentucky, to accommodate the more than 285 exhibitors expected, which is an increase of 10% from last year.

More than 3,000 coal preparation professionals gathered last year to see the latest coal processing technology, equipment and services from more than 250 exhibitors. Part of the larger attendance was due to the fact that Coal Prep 2010 coincided with the XVI (16th) International Coal Preparation Congress (ICPC) for the first time in the U.S. since 1966, which drew a large number of international participants.

"We have retained some of the international participation on the show floor," Coal Prep Sales Manager Sam Posa of Penton Media, said in an April 22, 2011, Coal Age article. "Registration figures are on target to meet last year's level without the ICPC. Total attendance is expected to exceed 2,200. Last year, the exhibition had 250 stands."

For the past 28 years, coal prep has provided vendors and suppliers the opportunity to rub elbows with not only with industry experts, but also the key decision-makers from the some of the top coal companies.

Coal Prep opens Monday, May 2 from noon to 6 p.m. with a golf tournament, giving attendees a chance to network with clients in a more relaxed environment.

This year, four new operator workshops, organized by the Coal Prep Society of America (CPSA), have been added to the schedule and will cover the latest trends in coal processing.

Industrial Info Resources will be there to cover the show's highlights, including the keynote address: "The Coal Industry's Regulatory Minefield," by Luke Popovich, vice president, communications, National Mining Association. Popovich is expected to provide a frank overview and detailed update on the coal industry's most current regulations.
