U.S. Drillers Add Rigs for Tenth Week - Baker Hughes reports that the number of rigs drilling for oil in the U.S. increased by four for the week ending January 6 to 529, marking the 10th straight week of increases. (Reuters)

U.S. Oil & Gas Jobs Increase - The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the number of oil and gas extraction service jobs increased by 3,300 in November, its first increase since September 2014. (Reuters)

EIA: U.S. Gasoline Prices in 2016 Lowest Since 2004 - The U.S. Energy Information Administration reports that U.S. gasoline prices in 2016 averaged $2.14 per gallon in 2016, 12% less than 2015, and the lowest annual average price since 2004. (EIA)
LyondellBasell Takes Houston Refinery Off the Selling Block - LyondellBasell Industries NV (NYSE:LYB) (Houston, Texas), which announced that it would try to sell its refinery in Houston last August, has said that the refinery will remain part of the LyondellBasell portfolio. (IIR)
