Fire Shuts Down Pascagoula Natural Gas Processing Plant - A fire occurred Monday at Enterprise Products Partners' (NYSE:EPD) (Houston, Texas) natural gas processing plant in Pascagoula, Mississippi. The situation was brought under control, but the plant has been shut down, which has caused the closure of the Destin offshore natural gas pipeline that can carry 1.2 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas to the plant.

(Paris, France), a leading engineering, project management and construction company for the global energy market, is doing strong business amid the downturn in oil prices. The company reported a total backlog of roughly 15 billion euros at the end of the previous quarter--down from last year, but spread across onshore and offshore projects, as well as technology, consulting and equipment work.

U.S. Gas at 10-Month High - U.S. natural gas futures jumped to a 10-month high on Tuesday on outlooks for higher-than-normal temperatures across the continental U.S. July 8-12.

NextEra in Bidding Process for Oncor - Sources tell Bloomberg that NextEra Energy Incorporated (NYSE:NEE) (Juno Beach, Florida) is the closest bidder to reaching a deal with Energy Future Holdings Corporation (Dallas, Texas) to purchase power transmission subsidiary Oncor Electric Delivery Company (Dallas).

White River Hydroelectric Facility in Ontario Comes Online - The 19-megawatt (MW) White River hydroelectric facility, located about 50 kilometers south of the town of White River in northern Ontario, began commercial operations this month.
