El Paso Electric Issues Request for Proposal for Texas Service Territory

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Power provider El Paso Electric Company (EPE) (El Paso, Texas), which distributes electricity primarily to customers in El Paso and Las Cruces, New Mexico, has issued a request for proposal (RFP) for generating resources to serve its Texas territory by 2025.

According to Chief Executive Officer Kelly Tomblin, EPE is seeing a 2% customer base growth year over year. EPE's resources planning studies project a capacity need of 175 to 225 megawatts (MW) before May 1, 2025.
