Equitrans to Complete Mountain Valley Pipeline in 2023 - Equitrans Midstream Corporation (NYSE:ETRN) (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) expects to complete the $6.6 billion Mountain Valley natural gas pipeline from West Virginia to Virginia in the second half of 2023, the company said on Tuesday. That follows news on Monday that Democratic U.S. Senator Joe Manchin secured a commitment from President Joe Biden, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to allow the long-delayed Mountain Valley Pipeline to be completed. MPLX Pipeline Throughput Rises - U.S. midstream oil and natural gas company MPLX LP (NYSE:MPLX) (Findlay, Ohio) said Tuesday it had increased total pipeline throughputs by 6% in the second quarter of 2022 and terminal throughput by 4%, compared with year-ago levels. MPLX said in an earnings statement that total pipeline throughputs were 5.9 million barrels per day (BBL/d), with terminal throughput of 3.1 million BBL/d for the second quarter. (Reuters)

BP to Boost Oil & Gas Spending by $500 Million - BP plc (NYSE:BP) is increasing its spending on oil and gas by $500 million in response to soaring energy prices and tightening supplies, Chief Executive Officer Bernard Looney told Reuters on Tuesday. The extra spending will go primarily to BP's onshore natural gas production in the Haynesville Basin and offshore production in the Gulf of Mexico, he said. (Reuters)
