Euro-Composites Corporation Expands Manufacturing Plant in Virginia

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Euro-Composites Corporation (Elkwood, Virginia) is currently under way with an $11.25 million expansion of the company's manufacturing plant in Elkwood, Virginia, to produce composite materials for the aerospace industry.

A 14,700-square-foot building addition will include the installation of 12 computer-numerical controlled (CNC) machines. The expansion also includes the relocation of equipment from the existing plant to the new building that will enable the company to manufacture honeycomb composite materials that will be used in the aerospace industry and support the launching of the Lockheed Martin F-35 multi-role fighter aircraft. Construction began in December 2010, and overall completion is scheduled for this summer. Approximately 70 new jobs will be created as a result of the expansion.
