Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--PT Geo Dipa Energi has conducted a trial for the 10-megawatt Dieng small-scale geothermal power plant, before it begins operations officially.
The first blow of the small-scale turbine is an experimental stage of the turbine operation, with no electricity loading, meaning that the rotation of the turbine has not yet produced any electrical energy. Riki Firmandha Ibrahim, president of PT Geo Dipa, said that the project is running according to its target, with support from the Indonesian government.
The plant will be the first to utilize a small-scale flash condensing generator in Indonesia. It was initially targeted to operate commercially in 2020, but postponed due to the pandemic. The operation of the plant will increase Geo Dipa's electricity production supply to 130 megawatts (MW). This additional supply will help PT Geo Dipa fulfill its contract obligation to develop the Dieng area for up to 400 MW.
