Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--The first unit (Unit 1) of Zhejiang Datang International Jiangshan Gas-fired Thermal Power Company Limited's (Quzhou, Jiangsu) 230-megawatt (MW), gas-fired cogeneration project was connected to the grid for power generation the first time on April 25, 2013, according to an announcement on April 28 from Zhejiang Thermal Power Construction Company (ZTPC) (Hangzhou, Zhejiang), a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing) and the construction contractor of the project.
The Datang Jiangshan natural gas-fired cogeneration project is located in the Lianhuashan Green Industrial Park in Jiangshan City, which is a county-level city in eastern China's Zhejiang province. It is invested by Datang International Power Generation Company Limited (Sh.601991) (Beijing), the listed flagship of China Datang Corporation (Beijing). The project is furnished with two gas-fired, combined-cycle units with a total investment of about $225 million in the initial stage. Each combined-cycle unit comprises a GE PG6111FA combustion turbine with a rated output of 73.6 MW; a steam turbine with a rated output of 25.7 MW manufactured by Harbin Electric Corporation (Harbin, Heilong); and a heat recovery steam generator manufactured by Babcock-Hitachi Dongfang Boiler Company Limited (Jiaxing, Zhejiang) in a single-shaft layout.
As one of the key gas-fired projects listed by the government of the Zhejiang province to be built immediately to alleviate the province's power shortage, the project received approved from the Zhejiang Provincial Reform and Development Commission on December 20, 2011. Construction of the project kicked off on January 5, 2012.
As reported, during the first startup, operation of the unit was kept on stable and various parameters, and it was rated at a sound level.
Presently, ZTPC is working closely with the project owner and Zhejiang Electric Power Design Institute (Hangzhou, Zhejiang), the project designer, for the final commissioning of the project. According to the schedule, both units of the project will begin commercial operations in later 2013.
