GeoGreen Biofuels Expects to Begin Recycled Oil Biodiesel Production in March

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Privately held biodiesel startup GeoGreen Biofuels Incorporated (Los Angeles, California) is putting the final touches on processing equipment and expects to begin making biodiesel at the company's new recycled oil biodiesel production facility, which is in Vernon, California, near Los Angeles.

The company collects, recycles and processes waste restaurant fryer oil for free from a number of area establishments, and provides suppliers with storage containers and pick-up services. The oil is taken to the 19,800-square-foot plant, where the oil is run through a transesterification process and supporting systems that will yield 3 million gallons of biodiesel annually.

The process technology was provided by now-bankrupt Greenline Industries LLC (Larkspur, California), and the plant utilizes a waterless technology that produces no emissions or wastewater.

Unlike many producers who are who are struggling in trying to utilize virgin soybean oil feedstocks, GeoGreen expects to capitalize on the ongoing and abundance of recycled oil feedstocks and help clean up the environment.

There are currently a dozen operating biodiesel plants in California, with a combined capacity of producing nearly 95 million gallons of biodiesel annually.
