Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Golden State Foods Corporation (Irvine, California), one of the world's largest suppliers of quick-service restaurant foods and products, is responding to growing distribution demands with the construction of a refrigerated warehouse. The facility will be located in the Greenfield North Industrial Park near the intersection of Interstate 40 and Highway 70 in Garner, North Carolina.

Under the development of Craig Davis Properties Incorporated (Cary, North Carolina) and general contractor J.D. Beam (Raleigh, North Carolina), construction on the $23.5 million project began in June and is expected to be complete by August 2009. The 133,000-square-foot building will house cooler and freezer storages and serve as the central distribution center for at least 500 McDonald's restaurants in the Carolinas and Virginia. Subcontractor bids for refrigeration packages are anticipated to be taken as early as next month.

Once fully operational, the Garner facility will add to the more than 230 operational Food & Beverage manufacturing and distribution facilities in North Carolina, as reported by Industrial Info.
