Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Last month, Graphic Packaging International (NYSE:GPK) (Marietta, Georgia) completed a $41 million expansion project at a beverage container plant in Perry, Georgia. The company has doubled the size of the plant from 150,000 square feet to 300,000 square feet and added three flexo-presses, for a total of four presses, in addition to creating new warehouse space with a third party. The Perry expansion was an integral part of a $75 million initiative by Riverwood International Corporation, which subsequently merged with Graphic Packaging, to increase the competitiveness of beverage carton converting operations through manufacturing automation and by adding press capacity. In March 2004, Industrialinfo.com released a project detailing the Perry Paperboard Converting Plant Expansion.
Graphic Packaging Corporation was formed in August 2003, as a result of the merger of Riverwood Holding, Inc. and Graphic Packaging International Corporation. Graphic Packaging is a leading provider of paperboard packaging solutions to the beverage, food, and consumer product industries.
