Among the chief projects slated for completion this quarter is a hydro powerhouse addition in Smithland, Kentucky. The 75-megawatt powerhouse will use three Voith bulb turbine-generators to supply renewable energy to the local grid. American Municipal Power Partners (Columbus, Ohio) owns the project, which began construction several years ago and is expected to be completed this month. The project has an estimated total investment value of $432 million. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
Already completed this quarter is the 345-kilovolt Grand Prairie Gateway Transmission Line in Illinois. The project consisted of 60 miles of high-voltage transmission between Wayne and Byron in the northern part of the state to alleviate the area's power congestion and improve reliability. The project was completed in January. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
Within the Industrial Manufacturing Industry, one of the largest projects to be completed is CoreCentric Solutions Incorporated's (Glendale Heights, Illinois) $187 million grassroot logistics/distribution warehouse in Carol Stream, Illinois. FCL Builders Incorporated (Itasca, Illinois) is acting as general contractor for the project, which began construction in fall 2015 and is expected to be completed by the end of this quarter. The project entailed the demolition of two buildings and the construction of a 350,000-square-foot building with supporting equipment and facilities, including loading docks, shipping bays, a conveyor system, an automatic retrieval system and more. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
Within the Food & Beverage Industry, one of the top projects slated for completion is a grassroot grocery distribution center in Findlay, Ohio. The state-of-the-art facility features a 337,000-square-foot building and highly automated machinery and equipment to store and distribute grocery products to regional merchants. McClane Company (Temple, Texas) is the owner of the $119 million project, which began construction in late 2014 and is expected to be completed this month. Construction Management Technology (Addison, Texas) is acting as general contractor on the project. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
