Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Hostess Brands LLC has completed a $30 million expansion project at its flagship bakery production facility in Emporia, Kansas. Operations at the 258,000-square-foot Emporia site now consist of five production lines.

The project included the installation of a new Auto-Bake (Woodridge, Illinois) production line, complete with upgraded packaging and palletizing equipment, plus a 36,000-square-foot warehouse addition.
Hostess also is developing a $20 million project that calls for the installation of a new Twinkie production line. Construction is slated to begin later this year, and the new line is expected to be operational mid-year 2015.
Hostess is owned by Apollo Global Management LLC (New York, New York) and Metropoulos & Company (Greenwich, Connecticut).
