Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Following the completion of the water pressure test for Unit 1 in April, Heilongjiang No.1 Thermal Power Construction Corporation (HTPC1) (Harbin, Heilongjiang), the project contractor and a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing), completed the water pressure test for Unit 2 of Guodian Harbin Pingnan Thermal Power Plant's 700-megawatt (MW) cogeneration project on August 3, 2013, according to an announcement from the CEEC on August 7.
As reported, the boilers for the cogeneration project are 1,110-ton-per-hour, direct-through, supercritical, coal-pulverized boilers supplied by Harbin Electric Corporation (Harbin, Heilongjiang) with rated pressure at 25.4 megapascals (Mpa). The water pressure test for Unit 2 kicked off at noon on August 3, and reached its rated pressure three hours later. Upon a thorough inspection, the pressure was increased again two hours later to 41.4 Mpa and was maintained at this maximum pressure for 20 minutes. Prior to the water pressure test, the boiler had passed the joint acceptance performed by China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute (CSEI) (Beijing) and the Heilongjiang Provincial Quality Supervision Center for Power Infrastructure Construction Projects.
The Guodian Harbin Pingnan Thermal Power Plant, located at the southeast corner of Pingfang District of Harbin City, in northeastern China's Heilongjiang province, is invested by Guodian Northeast Electric Power Company Limited (Changchun, Jilin), a regional subsidiary of China Guodian Corporation (Beijing). The power plant has a total planned capacity of 1,400 MW that is to be built in two phases. Two 350-MW, coal-fired, cogeneration units, together with flue gas desulfurization and denitration devices, are being built in Phase I.
On March 4, 2010, the Phase I project received approval from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). Construction of the main powerhouse for Unit 2 kicked off on May 10, 2011. Successful completion of the water pressure test paved the way for the startup of the unit in the next stage.
