Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--Heilongjiang No. 1 Thermal Power Construction Corporation (HTPC1) (Harbin, Heilongjiang), the project contractor and a subsidiary of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Beijing), completed the generator stator erection for Unit 2 of Guodian Harbin Pingnan Thermal Power Plant's 700-megawatt (MW) cogeneration project on December 8, 2012, according to an announcement from the CEEC on December 12.
The Guodian Harbin Pingnan Thermal Power Plant, which is located at the southeast corner of Pingfang District in Harbin City, in northeast China's Heilongjiang province, is invested by Guodian Northeast Electric Power Company Limited (Changchun, Jilin), a regional subsidiary of China Guodian Corporation (Beijing). The power plant has a total planned capacity of 1,400 MW to be built in two phases. Two 350-MW, coal-fired cogeneration units, together with flue gas desulfurization and denitration devices, will be built in Phase I.
On March 4, 2010, the Phase I project received approval from the National Development and Reform Commission. Site preparation of the project kicked off on February 11, 2011, and construction of the main powerhouse for Unit 2 kicked off on May 10, 2011.
As reported, both units of the cogeneration project are supplied by Harbin Electric Corporation (Harbin, Heilongjiang). The erected generator stator, together with its lifting tools, has a total weight of 205 metric tons. As the designed rail beam for the bridge crane can't withstand the total weight of the generator stator and its lifting tools, the contractor has to speed one week to modify the combination of bridge cranes in the steam turbine room. The contractor also determined a construction scheme to overcome the impact of recent snowstorms and to ensure the smooth transfer of the generator stator into the steam turbine room.
According to the latest schedule, the two units of the project will be put into operation in July and September 2013.
