Iberdrola Renewable Energies Completes Construction Of Commercial Windfarm Project In New Hampshire

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Iberdrola Renewable Energies Incorporated (Portland, Oregon), a subsidiary of Iberdrola Renovables SAU (MCE:IBR) (Madrid, Spain), has completed construction and begun commercial operation of the $41 million 24-megawatt (MW) Lempster Mountain Windfarm Project located near Lempster, New Hampshire. The Lempster Mountain Project is the first commercially operating windfarm facility in New Hampshire.

Construction of the project began in March and was completed this summer. Iberdrola Renewables commenced full commercial operation of the new facility at the end of September. The project consisted of constructing 12 2-MW Gamesa G87 wind turbine generators five miles south of Mount Sunapee. The turbines stretch over several connecting mountains in the area and will generate enough energy to provide power for approximately 10,500 homes in New Hampshire.
