IIR Energy Top Refining News Today: October 25th 2019
Shell Canada Limited will conduct a planned, plant-wide maintenance turnaround starting May 30, 2020 at its 225,000-BBL/d Scotford Upgrader Refinery in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada. Units involved include the 100,000-BBL/d Atmospheric Unit (Upgrader 1), 155,000-BBL/d Vacuum Unit (Upgrader 1), 80,000-BBL/d Vacuum Gas Oil Mild Hydrocracker (MHC) Train 1, Diluent Recovery Unit (Upgrader 1), Hydrogen Train 1 (HMU) Upgrader 1, 50,000-BBL/d Residue Hydroconversion Unit (RHC/IHT) Train 1 and 600 T/d Sulfur Recovery Unit (Train 1 & 2). The facility is expected to begin restart on June 15, 2020.

Valero Refining Company restarted the 75,000-BBL/d AVU 147 Crude Unit at its 343,000-BBL/d Port Arthur, Texas, refinery, which shut down on October 21 for repairs. Additionally, the 45,000-BBL/d Hydrocracker 942 that was shut down on August 6 for planned maintenance is starting up within the next 24 to 48 hours.
Monroe Energy LLC restarted the 50,000-BBL/d FCCU and 12,000-BBL/d Alky units last night, October 24, after completing planned maintenance at its 185,000-BBL/d Trainer, Pennsylvania, refinery. The 101,000-BBL/d Crude 543 is expected to be back online November 3.
International
SK Incheon Petrochem Company Limited has restarted the 200,000-BBL/d CDU 2, 100,000-BBL/d Condensate Splitter Unit, 37,000-BBL/d Reformer 2 and 35,000-BBL/d Reformer 3 today, October 25, at its 300,000-BBL/d Incheon South Korea Complex. The units were shut down for planned maintenance on September 25.
HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd successfully restarted the 84,345-BBL/d DHDT 1 at its 226,000-BBL/d Bathinda Refinery in India on September 17. Since August 29, the unit was shut down due to ongoing Hydrogen 2 BS VI hook-up shutdown jobs.
Bashneft ANK OAO has rescheduled a planned maintenance turnaround for the 40,000-BBL/d ABTM-9 (Crude 3) and 24,000-BBL/d ABTM-9 (Vacuum 3) units at its 142,000-BBL/d Novoil-Ufa Refinery in Russia. Maintenance was planned to start on October 1, but has been rescheduled to start on November 1, and is expected to last until November 30.
