Flint Hills, on June 20, shut down the 55,000-BBL/d Fluid Catalytic Cracker (FCC) Unit 1 at its 210,000-BBL/d West Refinery Complex in Corpus Christi, Texas, after experiencing mechanical issues. The unit is expected to be offline into early July.
Pemex TRI continues to define the exact dates and scope of a turnaround this year for units at the 315,000-BBL/d Miguel Hidalgo (Tula De Allende) refinery in Mexico. The program may include the 150,000-BBL/d Combinada Primaria 1 (Crude) and 30,000-BBL/d Reformer Unit 500-2, among other associated units. The turnaround is scheduled to begin by mid-2021; however, precise dates have not been disclosed. The refinery is running at approximately 150,000 BBL/d.
Pemex TRI completed the planned turnaround of four (and associated) units in Area 3 at its 177,000-BBL/d Ciudad Madero, Mexico, refinery. Planned repairs began on May 20, and the units were restarted June 20. The refinery is processing 85,000 BBL/d.
International
Persian Gulf Star Oil Company (PSGOC), on June 21, restarted the Condensate Block 1 at its 360,000-BBL/d Bandar Abbas Refinery in Iran, after the block was shut down for planned maintenance on May 23. Separately, on June 23, PSGOC began a 30-day planned shutdown of the Condensate Block 2, which includes five major units. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the units by July 22.
Banias Refinery Company (BRC) continues operating its 131,000-BBL/d Banias Refinery in Syria at 75%, which has affected 11 major units, due to a crude oil shortage. Tentative expectations are to resume full capacity by September 14.
Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has delayed the restart of the 20,000-BBL/d Guwahati Refinery in India due to additional repairs needed. Four units have been under a planned shutdown since April 29, while six others have been under a planned shutdown since March 30. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the units by July 15. During the turnaround, the design capacity of the 12,000-BBL/d Diesel Hydrotreater and 1,000-BBL/d Isomerization 2 units is being ramped up to 16,000 BBL/d and 1,200 BBL/d, respectively.
