India Accelerates 5,097 MW of Hydropower Projects Near China Border

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Indian government of Arunachal Pradesh, situated near the China border, has awarded five hydropower projects with a total capacity of 5,097 megawatts (MW) to Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN), a company headquartered in Himachal Pradesh.

The projects, consisting of the 3,097-MW Etalin, 680 MW-Attunli, 500-MW Emini, 420-MW Amulin and 400-MW Mihumdon, will be located on the tributaries of the Dibang River, which originates near Keya pass on the Indo-Chinese border in the Upper Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh.
