NATURAL GAS
U.S. Natural Gas Output, Demand to Decline in 2021 - U.S. natural gas production and demand will decline in 2021 after hitting record highs this year, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in its Short Term Energy Outlook on Tuesday. The EIA projected dry gas production will fall to 94.11 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) in 2021 from a record 94.74 Bcf/d in 2020. The EIA also projected U.S. gas consumption would fall to 85.70 Bcf/d in 2021 from a record 86.73 Bcf/d in 2020 due mostly to reduced power demand as renewables produce more electricity. (Reuters)
LNG
Fourth Unit at Kinder Morgan's Elba Island LNG Plant Ready for Service - Kinder Morgan (NYSE:KMI) asked U.S. energy regulators for permission to put the fourth liquefaction train in service at its Elba Island liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plant in Georgia. Kinder Morgan has said it expects one 0.3 million-tonne-per-annum LNG train to enter service about each month through the summer of 2020, when all 10 trains should be operating. TERMINALS
Corpus Christi Crude Oil Exports on the Rise - U.S. crude exports from Corpus Christi, Texas, have surged to a record in recent weeks, often surpassing hubs such as Houston and Beaumont, Texas, thanks to faster-than-expected infrastructure additions. The infrastructure boom at Corpus Christi helped push crude exports there to a weekly record of 1.59 million barrels per day (BBL/d) in late December, more than doubling levels that held for the first eight months of last year, and above Houston's 2019 peak of 1.36 million BBL/d.
