U.S. Oil & Gas Rig Count Hits Record Low for Eleventh Week - The U.S. oil and gas rig count fell by five to an all-time low of 253 in the week ending July 17, marking the eleventh week of a new record low. (Reuters)
Norway's Crude Oil Production Falls in June - Norway's June crude oil output fell 12% from May to 1.54 million barrels per day (BBL/d) which was 4.1% below the official forecast which corresponded to a production cap of 1.61 million BBL/d set by the government. Crude oil output year on year, however, was up 45.8% due to the ramp-up of Norway's Johan Sverdrup oilfield, which started production last October. Natural gas output rose 5.9% month on month to 279.7 million cubic meters per day. Norway produces about 2% of the world's crude oil. (Reuters)

U.S. Okays Start of Kinder Morgan's Seventh Elba Island LNG Unit - U.S. energy regulators on Friday approved Kinder Morgan Incorporated's (NYSE:KMI) request to put the seventh liquefaction train at its nearly $2 billion Elba Island liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plant in Georgia into service. The first export cargo from Elba left in December. Elba, however, has not exported a cargo since January as government steps to reduce the spread of coronavirus have cut global energy demand.
