Major Overhaul Under Way at Greece´s Aspropyrgos Refinery

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Hellenic Petroleum SA's (ATH:ELPE) (Athens, Greece) 135,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Aspropyrgos refinery, located in the Greek state of Attica, is undergoing a major overhaul.

The shutdown started Saturday, September 12, and is scheduled to last until November 20, for a total of 39 non-production days. During the weekend, units were gradually turned off and, as of today, they are still performing the oil draining out of processing units like the 85,000-BBL/d Crude 1, the 52,000-BBL/d Crude/Vacuum Unit 2, the 45,700-BBL/d Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit 4100, the 27,000-BBL/d CCR Unit 3300, and the 10,100-BBL/d T.I.P (Total Isomerisation Unit), among others.
