Latin America stands out as a major meat-producing region. It is divided, in terms of production capacity, into Brazil, Argentina and the rest of the Latin American countries.
Brazil is the biggest meat producer in South America, benefiting from land availability and grain production potential. It has a strong domestic market, but is still the world's largest beef exporter.
Meat companies are continuously investing to increase production capacity. Investments for automation, new equipment additions and general upgrades to existing machines are performed to double or even triple plant capacities.
