New Jersey Nuclear Unit Experiences Delays During Restart

The outage was originally scheduled to last approximately 25 days. Plant personnel began heating the unit up on November 8, which was the original return date. However, on Monday, November 10, the restart was delayed because of additional turbine and valve problems. Plant personnel now hope to restart the unit on Friday, November 14.

The Salem Nuclear Power Station is located next to the Hope Creek Generating Station. Both are owned and operated by Public Service Enterprise Group Incorporated (NYSE:PEG) (Newark, New Jersey).
