Nitronex Starts Site Preparation for a Grassroot $35 Million Gallium Nitride Solutions Plant in North Carolina

Nitronex (Raleigh, North Carolina) has begun site preparation for a $35 million manufacturing plant in Lincoln Park West, North Carolina. The 96,000 square foot pre-engineered metal building will house the equipment used for manufacturing gallium nitride (GaN) solutions used for coating semiconductor wafers and chips. Parker Lincoln Developers (Raleigh, N.C.) hasve been awarded the construction contract and civil construction will begin October 2001 with completion scheduled for June 2002. There will be 10,000 square feet of class 10 thru class 1,000 modular clean rooms provided by Advance Tech (Richmond, Va.). Constructing modular clean rooms will substantially reduce construction costs.
