O2 Vindkompaniet to Build 17 Windfarms in Sweden in 2011 and 2012

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Swedish company O2 Vindkompaniet (Stockholm, Sweden) plans to begin constructing eight windfarms in 2011. The company obtained permissions in 2009 and expects to begin constructions in June next year. The following windfarms will be built: Sjisjka (90 MW (megawatts)); Glotesvalen (90 MW); Bosjovarden (27 MW); Massingberget (36 MW); Granberg (15 MW); Hedbodberget II (18 MW); Korpfjallet (45 MW) and Brahehus (27 MW). The steel towers will be between 125 and 175 meters high, and the turbines will have capacities of 3 MW each. Investment cost per MW is about $2 million.

O2 Vindkompaniet also envisions the development of nine windfarms that are awaiting planning permission, including Luongastunturi (210 MW); Hornliden (111 MW); Garpkolen (96 MW); Tonsen (165 MW); Fallasberget (30 MW); Hornamossen (54 MW), Karskruv (150 MW); Frestensfalla (18 MW) and Nassuden Vast (36 MW). The company expects to obtain the necessary permissions by 2012 and begin operations of the windfarms in 2013. At the moment the company is operating nine windfarms in Sweden, including the Bliekevare (36 MW), Hedbodberget (18 MW), Salitradberget (16 MW), Robergsfjallet (16 MW) and Rashon (2 MW) windfarms.

O2 Vindkompaniet develops, owns and sells renewable energy from wind power. The company produces one-fifth of all wind power currently available in Sweden, making it the country's largest wind power operator.
