Phase I of Glacier's $500 Million Windfarm Completed

(Madrid, Spain), has completed the first phase of the $500 million Glacier Wind Farm in Ethridge, Montana. Glacier Wind Farm consists of 71 towers and is expected to produce 106.5 megawatts (MW) of electricity. The towers are approximately 250 feet tall.

Mechanical construction is complete, and Glacier is adding 20 MW at a time to the power grid. All turbines should be commissioned and online in the next seven days. Phase II of the Glacier Windfarm consists of 69 additional wind turbines that will produce 103.5 megawatts. The mechanical completion and commissioning is expected to be complete by the end of the second quarter of 2009.
