Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas), the world's leading source for global industrial market intelligence, will be hosting our complimentary Market Outlook & Networking Event on September 8 at the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City, New Jersey. The panel discussion will feature nine of our industry experts, bringing a combined 190 years of experience at Industrial Info to the stage.

The Northeast market region, which includes New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and Delaware, has experienced tremendous growth in planned industrial activity over the past year. Industrial Info is tracking more than $106 billion in projects that are currently under construction, or in the planning or engineering stages, including more than $43 billion of projects planned to kick off from now through 2016. As with other regions, the Power Industry dominates the area's planned spending.

While Pennsylvania is seeing a build-out in natural gas-fired power, wind power projects are adding billions of dollars to New Jersey and New York's planned spending. The largest of these projects are for potential offshore wind projects and associated transmission infrastructure. Offshore wind remains a somewhat contentious issue. Even smaller projects, such as Fishermen's Energy of New Jersey LLC's (Cape May, New Jersey) planned 25-megawatt (MW) pilot windfarm off the coast of Atlantic City, which would have only five turbines, has been rejected twice by the state's Board of Public Utilities (BPU) and once in an appellate court ruling that supported the BPU's decision. Britt Burt, Industrial Info's vice president of Power Industry research, will be on hand at the Market Outlook to discuss how the recently released Clean Power Plan could affect this and other power projects.

Rail and transport project fall under Industrial Info's Industrial Manufacturing coverage, and this sector is dominated by subway and light rail projects in New York and New Jersey. The first phase of New York City's Second Avenue Subway Line is set to be completed by the end of next year, although as the project has been more than nine years in the making, many have their doubts about its reaching a timely completion. However, product manufacturing is also contributing to the state's spending plans. In Buffalo, a photovoltaic solar cell manufacturing plant and an LED lighting plant are adding a combined $1.5 billion in project spending, as well jobs to the area.

Finally, the Pharmaceutical-Biotech Industry is always a big player in the Northeast market region, and Industrial Info is tracking more than $7 billion in regional spending in this industry. Much of the spending is for new-build construction or renovations and additions to research and development facilities, although projects at drug manufacturing facilities, such as AstraZeneca plc's (NYSE:AZN) $100 million renovation of a tablets, injectables and oral liquids plant in Delaware, also make a significant contribution to activity.

Industrial Info's Market Outlook & Networking Event will discuss these and several industrial sectors in the U.S. and Canada, with a special emphasis on industrial project development in the U.S. Northeast and New England. We want to make sure that we address the issues most important to our audience, and are collecting questions on our RSVP submissions. We will be answering the most prevalent of these during the discussion.

In addition, after the panel discussion, drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served, allowing you to meet and greet your industry peers and speak with our industry experts. Don't miss this valuable opportunity! RSVP today!
