Report: Canada's Prairie Provinces to Lead in Renewables Growth
Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba will lead Canada's growth in renewable energy capacity over the next three years, according to a new report
Released Wednesday, March 24, 2021
Canada's "prairie provinces" -- Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba -- will lead the country's growth in renewable energy capacity over the next three years, according to a new report by the Canada Energy Regulator (CER).
The report, Canada's Renewable Power, says less reliance on coal and large increases in wind and solar capacity will increase the amount of renewable energy in Alberta and Saskatchewan, while Manitoba will strengthen its position as a prominent hydropower producer.
Industrial Info is tracking 81 capital renewable energy, worth $14.48 billion, in the three provinces.
