SINOPEC, INEOS Form Ethylene Joint Venture in Tianjin

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Earlier this month, SINOPEC (Beijing, China) announced it had formed a 50:50 joint venture with INEOS Limited (London, England) for the Tianjin Nangang Ethylene Project, which is under construction and expected to be onstream by April 2024.

The petrochemical complex includes a 1.2 million-ton-per-year ethylene cracker; a 500,000-ton-per-year high-density polyethylene (HDPE) unit using INEOS technology; and 11 other derivative units.
