Among Suffolk's top projects is Foundation Medicine Incorporated's (Cambridge, Massachusetts) grassroot advanced genomic diagnostic testing facility in Boston. The project entails constructing a 16-story, 628,000-square-foot facility, most of which will be used by Foundation, to expand genomic/biomarker testing and development as well as house the company's new headquarters. An expansion project that will construct and equip an additional 384,000 square feet at an adjacent site already is underway as well. Suffolk is providing construction management services. Other Suffolk Pharma-Biotech projects are aimed at attracting third-party tenants, such as Beacon Capital Partners LLC's (Boston) 2 Harbor Street laboratory building in Boston, a 10-story, 380,000-square-foot building that will be equipped for single or multiple tenants' life science research and development activities. Outside of Boston, Suffolk's projects include Northwell Health's (New Hyde Park, New York) renovation of its Feinstein Institute for Medical Research in Manhasset, New York. The project entails renovating two floors of the building and establishing Biosafety Level 3 laboratory space as well as office space to increase testing and research activities, including COVID-19 research. Suffolk also has landed a few contracts with e-commerce giant Amazon.com Incorporated (NASDAQ:AMZN) (Seattle, Washington). In 2020, Suffolk began work on a grassroot distribution/last mile delivery center in Brooklyn, New York. The three-story, 336,500-square-foot facility will support regional fulfillment, sortation and delivery activities. The project is expected to wrap up this summer. On the other side of the country, in Hayward, California, in the San Francisco Bay area, Suffolk is at work on a data center for Amazon. The three-story, 278,000-square-foot facility will have 49 megawatts of power and will help expand the company's cloud data services to the region.
