Tire Cord Manufacturing Plant Expansion Underway in Tennessee

Incorporated (Nashville, Tennessee), subsidiary of Bridgestone Americas Holding Incorporated (Nashville, Tennessee), has begun construction on a $45 million expansion of its Clarksville, Tennessee steel tire cord manufacturing plant.

The project involves the construction of a 125,000 square foot building and the installation of automated equipment. Once completed, the expansion will boost steel tire cord production to 58,000 metric tons per year.

Doster Construction (Birmingham, Alabama) was awarded the general construction contract. Site preparation began in the early spring of this year, and building construction started in May.
