Energy Market highlights gathered by Industrial Info and IIR Energy
LNG
U.S. LNG Exports Slip 5% - U.S. exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) declined 5% to 6.84 million tonnes in January compared to the prior month as cold weather boosted domestic gas demand and as producers sent less gas to European customers, Refinitiv Eikon data showed on Wednesday. A total of 95 cargoes carrying LNG departed last month from U.S. ports, mainly bound for customers in Europe, which received 68% of exports. Asia took 23% of total, according to the data. (Reuters)
PIPELINES
TC Energy Hikes Coastal GasLink Price - Pipeline operator TC Energy Corporation (NYSE:TRP) (Calgary, Alberta) on Wednesday raised its cost estimate for completing its troubled Coastal GasLink project, sending share prices sharply lower. The pipeline will transport natural gas to LNG Canada's (Kitimat, British Columbia) facility in British Columbia. Coastal GasLink's costs are now up 30% to C$14.5 billion (US$10.89 billion), from the project's previous estimate of C$11.2 billion (US$8.43 billion), which was already raised by 70% in July from the initial budget. Crude oil inventories climbed 4.1 million barrels in the week ending January 27 to 452.7 million barrels. It was the sixth straight weekly build, as refining utilization declined and net imports climbed. The EIA said gasoline stockpiles climbed 2.6 million barrels to 234.6 million barrels.
