Researched by Industrial Info Resources Australia (Perth, Australia)--Several companies are following the lead of Sirius Resources NL's (ASX:SIR) scoping study on the Nova-Bollinger nickel-copper deposit. Recent announcements from Western Australian-based companies such as Rumble Resources Limited (ASX:RTR), Matsa Resources Limited (ASX:MAT), AusQuest Limited (ASX:AQD) and Classic Minerals Limited (ASX:CLZ) suggest that they are fast-tracking their exploration programs in the Fraser Range region. The range is becoming known for its rich deposits of nickel, copper, gold and silver.
Rumble Resources Limited is completing its electromagnetic sampling of the highly prospective range. The scope of work includes monitoring the samples for any conductive bodies present within the Deep Root Zone and surrounding areas that potentially highlight the much sought-after sulphide mineralization. Initial comparisons with the Nova-Bollinger deposit have given the company confidence. During 2007-10, Rumble completed early-stage gravity surveys in the area.
Matsa Resources Limited has announced positive results from its Symons Hill drilling program in the Fraser Range. The drilling included a 71 first-pass Aircore drilling sample. Again, the results have been compared to that of the Nova-Bollinger discovery and have given the company the confidence for continuation.
AusQuest Limited (ASX:AQD) is exploring the Dundas project, 80 kilometres from the Nova-Bollinger project, within the Fraser Range area. It is in the planning stages for drilling, which is expected to commence by late 2013, as it readies the location of drill pads and equipment required. Currently, it has completed a FLTEM program, or fixed-loop EM, as part of its effort to obtain the clearance survey results, which will inevitably provide a more precise drilling target.
Lastly, Classic Minerals announced results on an early stage drilling program at the range. The company's announcement was based on the Stage I drilling of the 12-hole, 5,000-metre reverse circulation program. This clarified some of the anomalies it had initially found with the electromagnetic sampling. The company is now moving toward its target of 14 holes at 2,200 metres.
