Pipeline Operators Restructure After Tax Changes - Pipeline operators Enbridge Incorporated (NYSE:ENB), Williams Companies (NYSE:WMB) and Cheniere Energy Incorporated (NYSE:LNG) said on Thursday they would restructure after a U.S. rule change removed a key tax benefit for publicly traded partnerships controlled by those companies. Williams said it would buy all common units of its master limited partnership Williams Partners (NYSE:WPZ) in a deal valued at $10.5 billion. Enbridge said it would buy its independent units, including Spectra Energy Partners (NYSE:SEP) and Enbridge Energy Partners (NYSE:EEP) as well as its pipeline assets and bring then under a single listed entity for C$11.4 billion ($8.94 billion). Cheniere said it will buy out shares it does not already hold in Cheniere Partners Holdings (NYSE:CQH) for about $6.54 billion. (Reuters)
CRUDE OIL
Oil at Highest Since November 2014 on Iran Concerns - Brent crude oil prices climbed above $80 a barrel on Thursday for the first time since November 2014, hitting new multi-year highs on concerns that Iranian exports could fall because of renewed U.S. sanctions, reducing supply in an already tightening market. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were up 41 cents at $71.90 after also hitting their highest since November 2014, at $72.30 a barrel. (Reuters)

FERC: U.S. Grid Ready for Summer, but Concerns Loom Over Texas and California - Most U.S. regions are prepared to meet power and natural gas demand this summer, but shortages are possible in Southern California due to low hydropower and gas supplies, and in Texas following the retirement of several coal plants, the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) said in a report on Thursday. (Reuters)

Williams Resubmits Pipeline Application to New York - Williams Companies resubmitted a water permit application with New York environmental regulators for the company's proposed $1 billion Northeast Supply Enhancement natural gas pipeline project from Pennsylvania to New York.
