Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Northeastern China's Heilongjiang Province has been gaining the interest of investors to develop wind power projects. There are 17 planned windfarms with annual effective wind-energy density of more than 300 watts per square meter and annual effective utilization of more than 6,000 hours. The windfarms are in Jiamusi, a border city in Heilongjiang, where more than 85% of the area has been designated by the National Meteorological Administration as a region rich in wind resources. Wind energy has become an attractive option as China faces energy shortages and pressures to develop clean power.
In operation:
Fulong Phase I
Huafu Phase I
Under construction:
Huanan Longyuan
Fulong Phase II
Huafu Phase II
The feasibility study of the Huanan Dajiazishan and Fuyuan Dafengchangshan windfarms have been completed, and the Tangyuan, Jinshan and Huachuan windfarms in Tongjiang City are under pre-stage preparation. The total installed capacity of wind power in operation or under construction in Jiamusi is 237.1 megawatts (MW), about 23.6% of the city's total installed capacity.
In 2008, wind power development in Jiamusi will further accelerate. About 277 MW of wind power projects are planned to start construction this year, including Fujing Pingyuan, Wuergulishan Phase II, Huanan Yimashan and Datang Huachuan. The total installed capacity of wind power in Jiamusi is expected to reach more than 500 MW in 2010.
The Sengong Forest District, the largest state-owned forest district in China covering 10.06 million hectares, has contracts for large wind power projects with the Dahailin Forest Bureau, Suiyang Forest Bureau and Linkou Forest Bureau and with enterprises from Hainan and other places. The total investment for these projects will be more than $230 million.
