Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Guodian Karamay 700-megawatt (MW) cogeneration project, the Guodian Korla 700-MW cogeneration project, the Guodian Bachu 700-MW cogeneration project and Guodian Beitun 270-MW cogeneration project of Guodian Xinjiang Power Company Limited (Urumqi, Xinjiang), a regional subsidiary of China Guodian Corporation (Beijing) in Xinjiang, received consent from the National Energy Administration (NEA) to kick off pre-stage preparations recently, China Guodian Corporation announced on May 5, 2011.
Receiving preliminary approval from the NEA marks that the pre-stage work of these four projects means these projects are ready to submit project applications to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) for final approval.
The Guodian Karamay cogeneration power station, located in the petrochemical industry park of Karamay will be built and operated by Guodian Karamay Power Generation Company Limited (Karamay, Xinjiang). The project has a total planned capacity of 1,400 MW. Two supercritical coal-fired cogeneration units will be built in Phase I with a total investment of about $450 million. Upon completion, the project will be an important power source in the 220-kilovolt grid of North Xinjiang.
Guodian Korla Cogeneration Power Station is located in the Development Zone of Korla, the second largest city in Xinjiang. The project also has a total planned capacity of 1,400 MW, with two supercritical coal-fired cogeneration units to be built in Phase I. Upon completion, the project will be an important power source in the 220-kilovolt grid of South Xinjiang.
The Guodian Bachu cogeneration power station, located in the proposed industry park of Bachu County in South Xinjiang's Kashi Prefecture, will be built and operated by Guodian Bachu Power Generation Company Limited (Kashi, Xinjiang). Upon completion, the project will be an important power source in South Xinjiang.
Guodian Beitun Cogeneration Power Station is located in Altay City. The project will be built and operated under the control of Guodian Xinjiang Power, with joint investment from Nongshishi state-owned Assets Operation Company Limited and Henan Yima Coal Mining Group (Yima, Henan). The project will be furnished with two 135-MW cogeneration units, together with two 480-ton-per-hour coal-fired boilers. Upon completion, the project will be the largest power source of the Altay grid.
